How To Make Khamang Basen Flour Cake?


Chana dal flour:  250 gm

Paste of garlic, cumin & dhaniya: 1 tablespoon

Salt : 2 tablespoon

Turmeric powder: 1 teaspoon

Chilly powder: 2 tablespoon


Grated coconut: 1/4 bowl

Khuskhus: 1 tablespoon

Mustard seeds: 1 tablespoon

Cumin: 1 tablespoon

Hing:  1pinch

Oil : As your convenience

water:  250 ml

PROCEDURE :   Take basen flour in a pot. Add chilly powder, salt, a paste of garlic, cumin & dhania, turmeric etc.Pour some water in it , mix it properly. Now keep the pan on the gas. Add some oil in,  then take cumin on one hand & rub it with two hands till khamang smell come, add in the pan, add mustard seeds & 1 pinch hing in it.  After some time pour the mix of basen flour slowly in the pan with cover. Stir it properly. Keep it for cooking 5 minutes. SO THAT IT SHOULD BECOME THICK.

Now take a big or small thali. Pour 1 tablespoon oil in it , spread it all over thali. Now pour cooked basen in the thali. Make it equal properly. Spread coriander &  khuskhus with grated coconut on it.

If you want to make it soft don’t keep in oven & if you want to make hard keep it in an oven. Serve it with sour curry or sour chutney.
